Don Fernando, minister
The baritone studied in Stuttgart, in Karlsruhe with Friedemann Röhlig and in Zurich with Markus Eiche. He received important impulses from Júlia Várady. In 2012 he appeared as El Cimarron in Henze's work of the same name in Reutlingen, 2012/2013 at the Staatstheater Darmstadt (State Theatre Darmstadt) in Rihm's JAKOB LENZ, in Britten's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM in England, 2014 at the Fontane Festival in Neuruppin and the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad. In 2015/2016 he gave guest performances at the Nationaltheater Mannheim with Ronchetti and Handel roles. Lewenberg has received scholarships from the Richard Wagner Verband Karlsruhe, the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and the Riemschneider-Stiftung Karlsruhe and is a recipient of the Musikförderpreis des Kulturfonds Baden (Musicaward of the culture fund Baden) as well as an award of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. Since the 2016/2017 season, Lewenberg has been a permanent ensemble member at the Mecklenburg State Theatre, most recently appearing as Ned Keene (PETER GRIMES), Prince (DER GLÜCKLICHE PRINZ), Gabriel John Utterson (JEKYLL & HYDE) and Ein Standesbeamter (NEUES VOM TAGE).
