Cyrano de Bergerac

Cyrano de Bergerac

Romantic Comedy by Edmond Rostand, staged by Alejandro Quintana

Premiere: 27 June 2019

Swashbuckler and wordsmith Cyrano de Bergerac sets out to conquer the heart of his beloved Roxanne against the backdrop of the Schwerin Palace.

Unfortunately, his love letters bear the signature of another – for Cyrano, despite his charm, wit, and bravery –  also possesses a monstrously large nose. So large, in fact, that he doubts his character can triumph over his rather strange appearance. How strong is the power of poetry? Can he dare to be himself, nose and all?

Alejandro Quintana (former director at the Volkstheater Rostock and the Theater Heilbronn) stages this raucous comedy-drama, rife with witty word play and humorous scenes.
